Winemaker’s Notes

Houghton Sweet Classic - Late Picked Verdelho is produced in a soft fruity style with gentle aromatic flavours. The grapes were mechanically harvested in the cool of the night to maintain freshness and varietal expression. The grapes were gently pressed and the resultant juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to highlight flavour and varietal purity. The fermentation was halted once the desired sugar level was achieved to create this sweet wine style.

Houghton Sweet Classic is made in a fresh, fruity style that appeals to the sweet wine drinker. Drink on its own or a perfect accompaniment to spicy food dishes, fruit salad, and mature cheeses.
