2020 Moondah Brook Verdelho

Background Information
Moondah Brook wines are contemporary styles that capture the vibrancy of Western Australia. Youthful, fresh and flavoursome, Moondah Brook wines are perfectly suited for sharing with friends.
Winemaker’s Notes
Verdelho is unjustly an underappreciated variety and is synonymous with the Swan District which is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. Moondah Brook has a long history of making amongst the best of them within Australia. This wine is produced from Gnarly old vines between 25 and 50 years old grown on friable, red, loamy sands. Verdelho is typically vibrant and tropical without being overly perfumed. It is textural and hence a great food wine. It drinks well as a young wine and will age well with tropical notes turning to citrus, toast and honey while retaining texture and acid.
Tasting Notes
The iconic Moondah Brook Verdelho exemplifies Western Australian Verdelho, with clean, fresh tropical fruit characters of guava, pineapple, passionfruit and lime citrus with lifted floral notes. Hints of musk and orange blossom add to the enticing nose. The soft, fine acid provides length and vibrancy. Designed to be enjoyed with friends and food, the 2019 Moondah Brook Verdelho will complement lightly spiced Asian style dishes or can simply be enjoyed on its own.
