2018 Small Batch Rosé

Background Information
The Small Batch series of wines have been developed as a means of showcasing the creativity of our viticulture and winemaking teams.
Each year the teams work closely to trial new varieties, blends and techniques. The Small Batch wines represent their successes.
Vintage
The 2018 vintage in Western Australia was characterised by persistent warm and dry conditions with minimal heat spikes leading up to harvest. Healthy rainfall levels in the preceding winter and a cool spring resulted in healthy vines and an excellent flavour build up in the grapes. The favourable weather conditions resulted in the harvest of fruit full of flavour and in sound condition.
Winemaker’s Notes
After crushing the red fruit, there was a short period of time on skins to extract colour and flavour. Gentle processing and cool fermentation in stainless steel tank ensured the vibrant primary red berry fruit flavours were retained.
Tasting Notes
Gentle aromas of red fruits, crushed strawberry, musk and rose petal with a hint of spice. The palate continues on from the aromatics with vibrant berry flavours, carried by soft, bright acidity leading to a lovely finish, with a touch of sweetness.
Best enjoyed youthful and fresh. Enjoy on its own as an aperitif, or with Hainanese chicken or roasted quail.
