2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Close to harvest, the fruit is checked on an almost daily basis to ensure the ideal balance of fruit flavour to natural acidity. Individual patches of select outstanding fruit from the heart of Wilyabrup are hand-picked for our Reserve Cabernet. The hallmark attributes are medium to long term cellaring potential and expressive varietal fruit.
Fruit for the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is from the heart of the Wilyabrup sub region, consistently recognised as the premium red wine growing region in Margaret River. A true maritime climate, the proximity to the Indian Ocean means the warmer temperatures are ameliorated by the cooling ocean breeze, resulting in gentle ripening and full flavour development.
The Brookland Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a small volume wine that is handled separately through its life and only the exceptional barrels are selected for the final. The low yields and excellent vineyard site provides depth, intensity and classic Cabernet Sauvignon characters. We only endeavour to make the Brookland Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon in exceptional vintages.
