The Margaret River wine region is 120km in length, with vineyards located across six distinctive sub-regions. Visit and you can sample wines from contrasting vineyards, each bringing their own distinct flavour characteristics to the spectrum of Margaret River wine. Fruit from the north tends to be sweeter and fuller in flavour, particularly for red varieties. In the south, white varieties are fresher in flavour and develop lovely natural acidity.
The majority of wineries, including Brookland Valley, are gathered along Caves Road, north of the township of Margaret River in the Wilyabrup sub-region. Wilyabrup has become renowned as the birthplace of some of Australia's truly great Chardonnays. This classic variety, at its intense, elegant and refined best, has always been at the heart of the Brookland Valley range.
